According to ‘World Health Organization’ it was estimated that a whopping 1.2 million people died from kidney failure in 2015. The kidneys are a quick operator and slow diagnosis only increases chances of irreparable damage, accounting for a large proportion of this statistic. Royal Free have developed an app being trialled by practitioners in their hospital which has enabled results to be instantly delivered to staff in an average time of 14 minutes. Currently results can take hours to reach clinicians which can be fatal.
